Are you a Teacher of English specialist looking to work with a small group of SEN pupils?
Engage are working in partnership with an independent SEN school based in Bradford who provide education for young students aged 11 to 16 years with special education needs (SEN) and associated difficulties or specific learning difficulties.
There is plenty of support across school with a number of specialist support staff on hand and many of the students will have specific 1:1 support.
As full time SEN Teacher of English, your duties and responsibilities will include:- Plan and deliver English lessons to small classes
- To teach effectively across a range of provision ensuring pupils achieve excellent outcomes.
- To regularly assess and review pupils' progress and achievement and to communicate effectively with parents/carers in line with school procedures.
- To work with the Headteacher to develop, implement and monitor effective schemes of work, course delivery, assessments, pupil surveys and pupil data in line with school policy.
- To ensure that teaching and learning is evaluated, and action plans produced and implemented to promote best practice and ensure excellent pupil achievement.
- To work with other teachers and staff to identify, develop and deliver staff training.
- To develop and maintain a learning environment in line with the school's values.
- To target and monitor individual pupil progress and use data proactively to identify and drive individual and group improvement to maximise achievement
- To propose development actions based on data to the Head teacher
- To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of pupils and for raising any concerns in line with School procedures.
- To be responsible for promoting equality and diversity in line with School policies and procedures.
- To be responsible for following health and safety requirements in line with School policies and procedures.
- QTS or QTLS
- Experience working with SEN children either in mainstream or SEN schools
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
