A fantastic business with state of the art offices near Macclesfield require an Accounts Assistant, specifically dealing with the billings side of the accounts to join the team.

This is a 15 month maternity cover contract, looking to start in January 2023.You will report into a highly experienced and knowledgeable Commercial Finance Manager and be responsible for the delivery of accurate client billing and individual job management.

This is a key appointment as my client relies heavily on information from thisarea of the business to continue their impressive recent growth.


Duties include:

  • Reviewing jobs on a regular basis ensuring costs are billed accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Having a basic understanding of key client contracts/terms of business, relating to fees and charges, billing procedures, menu costings, expenses, and ensuring that invoices raised are in accordance with these agreed terms.
  • Ensuring correct accounting for revenue, compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies, and ensuring revenue is correctly allocated to relevant departments.
  • Ensuring relevant documentation with regard to Purchase Order numbers and client authorisation is received and retained, and complies with relevant client agreements, revenue recognition accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Producing billing and reconciling with client schedules when required.

Required skills/knowledge:

  • A methodical and thorough approach to your work with good organisation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience of working in a financial environment, dealing with high volume invoices.
  • An understanding of double entry bookkeeping, revenue, income, and turnover is preferable.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate financial matters to nonFinance people.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel.
