JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking an enthusiastic apprentice to support with the day-to-day administration of the People Directorate services in the Oasis Academy Hadley.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


To provide a professional, efficient and effective administration service to the Academies, undertaking HR administrative duties across the spectrum of People directorate activities including recruitment and selection of staff, whilst maintaining the iTrent database, collating data and supporting with meetings and employee relations.


Apprenticeship details:

You will be working towards the Level 3 HR support qualification, across a total duration of 20 months (17 months practical period).
The apprenticeship training will take place in house while you are at the workplace. We book once a month training session with your allocated tutor. This will be on a platform called Smart Assessor.

Here your tutor will go through the modules and units of your course, you then submit these online and complete during your study hours, alongside your full time job role.

Key Duties:


  • Strategic Development and Academy Development
  • Responsible, as a member of staff, for promoting and developing a positive culture and to ensure diversity within the Academy communities is recognised and respected.
  • Contribute to the development of the Academies' vision, values and aims and to abide by agreed professional behaviours and attitudes.
  • Recruitment, Selection and Appointment
  • Support the recruitment process by providing templates and guidance to staff as required.
  • Be compliant with Oasis Community Learning's Recruitment and
  • Selection Policy and Procedure at all times with a particular emphasis on safer recruitment.
  • Support with the process of vacancy approval ensuring policy is adhered to and the correct information is obtained in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate interview/selection logistics including room bookings, diary management, scheduling and preparation of relevant materials.
  • Respond to enquires creating a positive first impression and ensuring that all requests for recruitment packs and other general queries are responded to swiftly and professionally.
  • Administer the shortlisting process, ensuring compliant and timely completion.
  • Onboarding, Contracts and New Starter Administration
  • Facilitate the completion of DBS disclosures and other statutory recruitment checks including overseas police checks and NCTL.
  • Enter relevant information into Midland iTrent for new starters, preparing and dispatching employment contracts and ensuring timely signature and return by individuals.
  • In line with policy and legislation, undertake electronic Barred List Checks and Disclosure and Barring Service checks.
  • Support the PD Officer with the administration of preemployment health assessments for newly appointed staff.
  • Obtain checks for consultants, agency staff and casual staff in accordance with OCL Policy and record as required.
  • Inform relevant departments of new starters and support with the organisation of new starter Induction, liaising with appropriate colleagues and ensuring new starter equipment is organised for the first day.
  • Payroll and finance tasks
  • Absence Management (when staff are off sick, report data and follow procedures).
  • General PD Administration, Data Management and Support

ACCOUNTABLE TO:
Principal under the day-today management and leadership of the People Directorate Cluster Manager and People Directorate Officer.


Salary:

London Apprentice Wage for 18+ £9,885 (actual) per annum. (£4.81 ph)


LOCATION:

Oasis Academy Hadley - South St, Enfield EN3 4PX


WORKING PATTERN:
37 hours per week / 39 weeks per year

All applicants must complete an enhanced DBS

Applicants must have both their English and Maths GCSE's to a grade C/4 or above.
