The team/department
The Capital Markets Department within the Supervision, Policy and Competition Division at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is responsible for both the supervision and policy relating to Trade Repositories (TRs) and Securitisation Repositories (SRs).
Your role will contribute to the FCA strategy from a wholesale markets perspective by supervising market data repositories. These firms collect and maintain key regulatory datasets relating to the derivatives, securities financing and securitisation markets.
They play a key role in providing the FCA and other regulatory authorities access to these crucial datasets that are vital in enabling the FCA to discharge its public functions and effectively monitor for instances of systemic risk in wholesale markets.
You will use your analytical skills to identify risk in the business models and strategies of the firms in our portfolio and help to develop resolution strategies for addressing those risks.
This is a challenging, interesting, and varied role in one of the most high-profile and dynamic areas of the FCA.
It will give you the opportunity to help shape and deliver our supervisory approach to TRs and SRs post the UK's exit from the EU.
It will also enable you to build a detailed understanding of the UK's market data reporting regimes, FCA data ingestion systems, and the FCA's wider use of the data we receive.
What you will be doing- Supervisory engagement with TRs and SRs to ensure that they comply with relevant UK regulations on an ongoing basis- Supporting delivery of the supervisory strategy for this portfolio of firms- Managing team procedures and processes related to the efficient delivery of the team functions- Liaising with key internal stakeholders such as Authorisations, Legal Division and other Supervision teams- Working alongside other supervision teams within the Capital Markets Department (Benchmarks Administrators and Credit Ratings Agencies) to support and shape a supervisory strategy for the wider Capital Markets department- Engaging with external stakeholders such as HM Treasury, the Bank of England, ESMA, and various industry bodies- Exposure to wider policy and project work related to the supervision of TRs and SRs e.g.

Joining the Market Conduct and Post Trade team you will have the opportunity to implement and influence the FCA's supervision portfolio strategy for these firms.
This role provides exposure to both a breadth and a depth of issues, including with senior management at TRs and SRs.
