Job Description Summary
Aims to deliver the highest quality customer driven software whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring and supporting their engineering teams.

They will work in cross-disciplinary teams delivering exciting customer driven solutions and high qualitysoftware and showcase excellent interpersonal and communication skill whilst efficiently working across the project life cycle to ensure software operates as intended.

This is a leadership level role and will blend both deep domain and technical expertisewithin a feature team and great passion for coaching and developing people in a "player-coach" model.

Salary & Benefits:
£53,000 - £72,000 (depending on experience) base salary, plus annual discretionary bonus up to 30%, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bankholidays.

About the role:

As a Senior Software Engineering within our Retirements Engineering Team, you'll deliver the highest quality customer driven software.

You'll work in cross-disciplinary teams delivering these solutions, showcasing excellent interpersonal and communicationskills whilst efficiently working across the project lifecycle to ensure software operates as intended.


So what are we looking for in you?

  • Broad and deep technical experience with a passion for engineering excellence
  • You will work with the Engineering Lead and Solution Architects, to drive technical strategy to solving technical challenges and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • You will lead software development in the team, establishing high technical standards and ensuring code aligns to them.
  • You're a dynamic and adaptable individual, able to use and learn new skills in varying circumstances.
  • You'll be curious about technology and understanding how things work.
  • As a leader and motivator you'll nurture team members to create a culture of learning, and encouraging sharing of ideas.
  • And you'll influence positively demonstrating the right values and behaviours and encouraging this in team members.

We'll be specifically looking for these skills on your CV:

  • Solid understanding of the entire software development lifecycle and experience in end to end delivery of software products.
  • Extensive experience with agile development methods & tooling e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Jira & Confluence, and experience of leading & working as part of an agile team
  • Strong software development background essential, along with knowledge of modern software development toolsets including Cloud hosting, Containers, Kubernetes, Web App development, API's, DevOps Continuous Integration and Delivery.
