Continental shift, 4on, 4off

gap personnel Exeter are currently recruiting for an experienced Packaging Operative based in Tiverton.

Reporting directly to the Team Leader you correctly operate and manage the site packaging machinery.

You will work across the site's large automated factory as art of a dedicated packaging team whose primary objective is to meet the packaging schedule.

All of this whilst conforming to all product specifications and maintaining a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping.

Keeping product and material losses to a minimum, ensuring equipment is maintained and that all Health and Safety requirement are adhered too.


Key responsibilities as a Packaging Operative:

  • To operate machinery you have been assigned.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the machine during your shift monitoring the quality of the product produced at your work station in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
  • During operation you will be expected to set up the machine to run efficiently, carry out adjustments during operation to maintain efficiency and quality.
  • Fault find problems during operation and change the machine over to run different formats when required.
  • Follow SSOW for all work procedures
  • Report all near misses to your Team Leader

About you & experiences required:

  • Health and Safety awareness
  • Work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and with third parties
  • Sound knowledge of good manufacturing practices
  • Previous machine operating and running experience
  • Food related Hygiene course
  • 2 years' experience in a foods or foods related environment
  • Computer literate

Salary:
£29,876.00 per year


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Tiverton, Devon: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Warehouse experience: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
