Applications from highly motivated and ambitious colleagues are invited to undertake a Residency Training Programme in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, commencing in the autumn of 2023.
Willows is a truly multi-disciplinary centre with Specialists across Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Clinical Nutrition and ECC.
Facilities at Willows are second to none, including:
- State of the art anaesthetic monitoring equipment
- Dedicated anaesthesia Sonosite ultrasound machine
- Pain clinic, Electroacupuncture and Klaser machines
- Varied surgical case load including thoracoscopy and laparoscopy, craniotomy, cardiac surgeries, and intrahepatic liver shunts
- Dedicated ECC specialistrun intensive care unit
- Extensive imaging facilities including 1.5T MRI, 64 slice Siemens CT, ultrasound, digital Xray, fluoroscopy and endoscopy
- Interventional cardiology, radiology and endoscopic procedures
- Radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism and thyroid carcinoma
- Inhouse laboratory
- True multidisciplinary support for challenging cases
- Access to further expertise within the Linnaeus network
The Anaesthesia team have broad clinical experience with particular interests in anaesthesia for the critically ill patient, cardiac procedures and ultrasound guided local blocks.
Applicants should be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to practice in the United Kingdom and should have graduated from an institution that has been approved by the European Association of Veterinary Education Establishments (EAVEE).
