Description
The role will work at our base in Plymouth to ensure our fleet of ambulances are prepared and ready for operational duty and to maintain the serviceability of Emergency ambulances, equipment and consumables.
Duties will include replacing, re-stocking equipment and cleaning vehicles.These activities are essential and critical - making you a vital part and critical link between the frontline team and the patient care we deliver.
Shift times: 05:00 AM - 14:30 PM.Good communication skills and a basic understanding of IT is essential along with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Shifts will be worked on a rota basis.Your role will also involve moving ambulances and vehicles so a UK driving licence is essential. And a C1 licence.
Specific Duties:
- Checking stock levels of equipment and clinical and nonclinical consumables, liaising with the Logistics Manager for ordering more equipment.
- Correctly loading the response bags and specialist kits with particular attention to ensure all items are within their use by/service dates in accordance with agreed clinically and operationally approved policies.
- Plan and prepare ambulances to meet strict time deadlines and any other operational requirements.
- Ability to self manage workload and prioritise without direct supervision.
- To act autonomously to ensure the continuation of Make Ready Services within the area of responsibility to maximise the availability of our ambulances to deliver excellent patient care.
- To undertake routine and adhoc stock takes to verify the accuracy of recording systems.
- To clean inside the ambulances to the NHS Infection, Prevention Control (IPC) standards.
- Ensure appropriate steps are taken to protect the environment, the health and safety of staff, patients and visitors.
- To record any adverse incidents or near misses to your line manager
- To identify and remove from stock any items approaching their service or expiry dates.
Person Specification
Essentials:
Full UK Driving Licence With the C1 Entitlement
Experience in a customer focused environment
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written & verbal communication
Ability to work on own initiative
Willing to adapt and learn new skills
Ability to work in a fast moving, pressurised environment
Desirable:
Previous cleaning experience
