**Permanent Position

The Times makes some of the most successful and respected podcasts in the UK, and we are now looking for an experienced and creative podcast producer to join the team and grow our portfolio. Existing podcasts across the Times include the Red Box politics podcast, Off Air with Jane and Fi, Stories Of Our Times, The Game, The Ruck, Giles Coren Has No Idea, Books To Live By, World In 10 and Wine Times. As well as developing these existing podcasts, we are also looking to move into new sectors such as business, food, science and tech, and harness the world-class expertise of the journalists at The Times.


Times podcasts are made by News Broadcasting, the successful audio arm of News UK which is also responsible for Times Radio, talkSPORT, Virgin and TalkTV.

Thanks to a deep partnership with The Times and Sunday Times, we are able to combine the journalistic pedigree with the technical and broadcasting know-how across the company to make podcasts that win awards, generate revenue and top the charts.


Your team:

You'll be joining The Times podcast team whose portfolio includes Off Air with Jane & Fi, the Red Box politics podcast, Wine Times, Books to Live By, The Game, Giles Coren has no idea and Planet Hope.


Your role:

As a Podcast Producer, reporting to the senior management within Times Radio, you will use your podcast-making experience to produce and edit compelling series and episodes in partnership with our talent, correspondents and producers.

You will work closely with some of Britain's leading journalists and broadcasters, creating audio that engages audiences and in some cases sets the news agenda.


Day to day you will:


  • Produce new original episodes for existing podcasts, with both daily formats and/or serialised storytelling covering all aspects of production including budgets, resources and creative.
  • Identify opportunities for new podcasts and develop new formats, series and approaches which you can take into production
  • Work with colleagues on bestinclass digital podcast practices.
  • Partner with crossnetwork teams on marketing, sales, and communication strategies.
  • Forward plan and generate fresh ideas.
  • Work with the Times Radio social media team to ensure effective visualisation and promotion of podcast content
  • Potential unsociable hours including weekends

What we're looking for from you:
You are a Podcast Producer, proactive, organised and are great at multitasking.

You will have a great track record in audio storytelling with production on a successful podcast, news radio programme or relevant commercial podcasting know-how.


  • Knowledge of editing audio and familiar with software.
  • Proactive, a doer with excellent writing skills and creative ideas on how to make compelling content.
  • Confident working in a fastpaced environment and able to react positively to change
  • You will have an ability to influence and build long lasting relationships
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to inspire and lead small teams and work closely with presenters
  • Willingness to support and facilitate the visualisation of podcasts
  • Drive to improve diversity in all aspects of the podcast production process
  • A creative mind and ability to think differently
