Equality Focus provides Non-Medical Help for disabled students at various universities and we are currently recruiting for Study Support Assistants to work with students at the University of Greenwich during the university term time.
As a Study Support Assistant with Equality Focus you will support students with their studies by providing practical support, note-taking and study assistance to the students you work with.
Ultimately, you will help the students you work with to develop their independence and help them to achieve their academic goals.
Responsibilities:
The role of a Study Support Assistant will include performing one or more of the following tasks:
- Providing accurate and well-structured notes for students within their lectures and tutorials.
- To review notes at the end of the lecture and ensure they are in a suitable format for the student to access effectively.
- Assisting students within their lectures by clarifying the language used, checking understanding, and rephrasing information if necessary.
- Supporting students with their mobility around campus and facilities
- Supporting students in the library, for example collecting books and photocopying
- Maintaining a professional manner as a Practical Support Worker and being aware of the need to maintain professional boundaries with the student at all times.
- Working closely with Equality Focus to support the students, address any concerns in a timely manner and maintain professionalism and confidentiality within your role at all times
Requirements:
- Applicants must be in at least the second year of an undergraduate degree programme or have completed an Undergraduate degree.
- Strong skills in notetaking, typing and proofreading
- Punctuality and reliability
- Good organisational skills

£11.32 per hour
