Pipe Fitters wanted for ongoing maintenance works across a range of sites at Port Talbot and nearby sites.
Applicants must be time served and have a strong background in there disciplines, or the desire to progress in these areas.
- Carrying out Planning Maintenance
- Complying with Statutory Regulations and Organisational Safety Requirements
- Using Engineering Drawings and Documents in Maintenance Activities
- Working Efficiently and Effectively in Engineering
- Liaising with clients in job execution
- Strictly adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures, including the use of the appropriate protective clothing
- Plan installation or repair work, avoiding obstructions
- Cutting, threading, and bending pipe
- Install and assemble a variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings
- Connect pipework systems
- Secure pipes to structure
- Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumaticand the components of machines and equipment
- Increase pressure in pipe system, observing connected pressure gauge, to test for leaks in the system
- Observe production machines to detect machinery malfunctions
- Looking for a longterm career position.
- Formal craft apprenticeship.

- Develop an ability to interpret and act upon function design specifications (FDS) and P&ID drawings
Company Requirements

- Ensure that the working to correct method statements, work procedures and Safe Systems of Work
- Carry out regular point of work risk assessments
- Report incidents, hazards, unsafe acts, defects and suggest improvements
- Report any other concerns related to safety, health, welfare, quality, environment, or HR
- Inspect all equipment before use
- Ensure that equipment is not misused/ damaged and always report defective equipment
- Exercise reasonable care towards yourself and others
- Use equipment and appliances provided to you and ensure used for its correct purpose
- Avoid horseplay which could result in incident
- Refuse to undertake tasks that you are not trained for
- Undergo any training that is deemed necessary to carry out your role.
- Carry out regular inspections of your work from safety, health, quality and environment
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge:
- NVQ Level
- Apprentice Indentures in your Engineering Discipline
- Demonstrable experience of work carried out to that level
