A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to work with the multi-disciplinary Bladder and Bowel Service at St David's Hospital in Cardiff.
We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and flexible nurse who has a background and passion for working with individual's bladder and bowel dysfunction.
The role will involve contributing to the comprehensive assessment, treatment, management and review of patients in clinics and the community as well as the development of protocols and pathways for patients attending the service.
You will have the opportunity to develop professionally in a rapidly evolving area where new treatment options are becoming increasingly available.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.You will be involved in patient education in a variety of forms including nurse led clinics and home visits.
The role will also involve training other health care professionals in the management of bladder and bowel dysfunction and liaison with multi-disciplinary colleagues across specialities such as women's health and colorectal services.
You will be offered training and mentorship to achieve the competencies required for this post and will have the opportunity to attend study days and educational events.
You will be working in the community supporting patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction with a focus on proactive treatments and interventions that can improve bladder and bowel health.
Education and sharing knowledge is essential aspect of role hence the post holder will deliver best practice in relation to bladder and bowel care to nurses in both secondary and primary care.
Supporting the district nursing teams in advisory capacity to improve individual outcomes and experiences is part of role.This post is suitable for an experienced nurse with a passion and interest in bladder and bowel health. Personal qualities to include caring nature, ability to empathise, show compassion, problem solve and work autonomously.
Ability to travel to multiple health care sites across Cardiff and the Vale is essential for this post.
