Technical Product Owner - Payments

  • Function: Group Technology

  • Location: UK
Fintech is one of the cornerstones of the Vodafone transformation journey to become a technology/product company.

Within the consumer product portfolio, Fintech incorporates a range of innovative value propositions including, insurance, content partnering & payments, generating more than 300 m€ of revenue.


  • As part of the Fintech team, the Technical Product Owner is responsible for creating payment solutions (charge to the bill, of the bill) with Group and Local market commercial teams in line with the commercial and technical strategy.
  • As a result, the core responsibilities of the Technical Product Owner involve:
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders (Group & Local market Technology & Commercial as well as external 3rd Parties ( commercial partners, integrators )
  • Work with Product and Project Managers to deliver products across multiple teams
  • Drive key business decisions on makeorbuy, vendor selection, delivery, and operational model for the new product or service.
  • Drive creation and execution of the product roadmap in alignment with commercial and technical priorities
  • Take responsibility for the definition and execution of product technical roadmaps created during PI planning
  • Prioritising the backlog and sprint backlog in line with PI planning
  • Understand and drive the selection and delivery of technical implementation of architecture and designs
  • Support the agile team by representing the products' business/user, enabling them to determine and create innovative solutions.

Job Responsibility:


Key accountabilities and decision ownership

  • Work the with commercial team to create a product roadmap
  • Create, prioritize and execute a technical product roadmap
  • Enable crossteam alignment on technical designs and features.
  • Define product delivery and inlife agile setup

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:


  • Deep knowledge of software development projects and delivery within Agile environment (knowledge of SAFe is a plus)
  • Experience dealing with external stakeholders, including commercial partners
  • Experience in delivering B2C customers products
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Excellent Presentation Skills
  • Must have technical / professional qualifications:
  • Software engineering experience
  • Experience in delivering customer products and strong customer focus. Identifies from within his role proactive problems or opportunities for improvement
  • Fluent in English (written & oral)
  • Key performance indicators:
  • Clear, prioritized technical product roadmap
  • Trusted technical advisor status to all stakeholders
  • Timely execution of priorities
