JOB TITLE Mechanical Trainer

DEPARTMENT Mechanical Training Section

LOCATION TQ - RSME (Wainscott)

RESPONSIBLE TO 1) Section Leader

2) Phase Manager

SCOPE Instructional/Training Appointment


ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To deliver training to military students both basic and upgraders, in the maintenance and repair of in-service construction and heavy plant equipment.

To carry out this role you should either hold or be willing to work towards the following(as directed by Line Manager):


  • Hold a suitable mechanical engineering qualification (Ideally but not essentially for Plant Vehicles/Equipment's).
  • Hold Category C, G & H driving licence as appropriate. (Ideally but not essential)

If successful:

  • Attend Induction half day Course.
  • Attend and pass 'Training for Instructors' course.
  • Hold, or be prepared to work for an appropriate NVQ Assessor/Verifier award.
  • Hold, or work toward a level 3 teaching qualification

ROLE DUTIES

  • To instruct soldiers who attend formal Mechanical & Plant Maintainer courses at the RSME.
  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of students whilst under your control.
  • Maintain course and student records as appropriate.
  • Assess and mark course work including progressive tests in both theory and practical aspects to both military and civilian awarding body standards.
  • To work within the Company's Health, Safety, Fire and Environmental Policies
  • Ensure that your personal records and competencies are maintained.
