The Dudman Group of Companies have a vacancy for a Shipper / Sales Co-ordinator based at our Southwick Head Office, West Sussex.


Based primarily in West Sussex, the Group is a substantial business producing primary sand and gravel, crushed rock sub-bases and Armour Rock from both land-based and marine sources together with being producers of Readymixed Concrete.

With extensive reserves, our market position is also supported further by a number of strategic wharves and comprehensive Recycling operations in the south ensuring a consistent quality supply to all major client contracts as well as our strong and highly valued regular customers.

Scope

Responsibilities

  • Take orders accurately from customers, agree quantity, delivery date and time with a high level of accuracy
  • Plan and implement the daily deliveries to maximise the economic use of the transport fleet using our inhouse logistics software
  • Liaison with drivers to manage deliveries to the agreed customer deadlines
  • Maintaining customer relationship throughout order process
  • Work closely with the Transport Managers to maintain driver resource levels and Area Sales Managers when planning work
  • Build rapport with customers and develop relationships to encourage repeat business in liaison with the sales team
  • Run reports for invoicing, waiting time and stocks

Person Specification

Essential

  • Able to work collaboratively with a team
  • Selfmotivated, flexible and adaptable
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Experience working within the construction industry,
  • Excellent customer service record
  • Experienced in using various IT systems and packages (mostly MS office based)
  • EU working entitlement

Desirable

  • Shipping experience
  • Knowledge of logístical management software
  • Telephone sales or customer service experience

Hours of work, Remuneration and Benefits
Position is full time Monday to Friday with 1 x Saturday morning per month on a rota basis. Salary commensurate with experience

Salary:
£25,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
