Qualifications

• A graduate with qualified teacher status.
• A strong teacher of Science- this post is also suitable for ECTs
• Relevant qualifications (both formal and through appropriate experience) to meet the challenge of the appointment.
• Excellent in-depth knowledge of the place of the Science curriculum in the development of young people and of the place of within the wider curriculum.
• An understanding of the importance of a rigorous reading strategy to ensure students' confidence and reading fluency.

Responsibilities

• To be able to secure high standards of learning and achievement across the full ability range at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5
• To be able to demonstrate excellent subject knowledge
• To be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge and understanding the curriculum and of a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies and know how to use them to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential
• To have high expectations of young people
• To be prepared to contribute to broad aspects of Science within the school.
• To be able to work effectively as part of a team, to identify opportunities for sharing good practice
