Are you an experienced Expeditor with experience in manufacturing, engineering or similar?


Are you seeking a new role that matches your career development and aspirations? Well, read on My client has secured some major manufacturing projects and have an orderbook bursting at the seams They urgently need to fill this new vacancy for an Expeditor within their planning department.


Role Profile
The Expeditor will be responsible for the kitting, progress and movement of components around the shop floor.

This role will ensure that components are delivered on time and in full to the Stores department ready to be delivered to customers.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities of Expeditor are:

  • Promote a positive EHS culture
  • Working alongside the Operational Leaders and Planner to ensure that jobs are launched on time to the shop floor.
  • Working with the Stores and planning departments ensure that all projects are kitted with the right material in preparation for the launch on to the shop floor.
  • Moving components through the production areas at the required time to achieve 100% on time delivery with customers.
  • Continual monitoring of the component against the Syteline system to ensure schedule adherence against the overall work to lists.
  • Assume a supporting role to the Planner and Operations Leader to assist with moving the product on to further operations.
  • Attend the daily production shop floor meetings to gain a thorough knowledge of the delivery schedules and customer commitment dates.
  • Support production areas by removing waste and ensuring work areas comply with Health & Safety
  • Assume responsibility for the completion and delivery of all shipping documentation
  • Arrange all transportation to ensure ontime delivery to customer
  • Support the Business with Lean Manufacturing initiatives

Person Specification for the Expeditor are:

  • Team player with strong inclusiveness skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to plan, drive and complete projects on time whilst involving the correct stakeholders.
  • Good level of numeracy skills
  • Strong team ethic whilst having the ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to communicate in an effective manner to different levels within the organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple products / product lines at once.
  • Knowledge of Syteline (ERP System) a distinct advantage
  • Previous aviation / aerospace manufacturing experience and / or technical experience or equivalent.
