Courtyard Oxford South & The Gate Aparthotel London is looking for a Cluster Human Resources Officer to join the team.

With the ability of being able to work off own initiative and in a highly organised manner, communicating openly and honestly will ensure the human resources department and hotel presents the best possible image to both its internal and external customers.

Provides administrative support to the General Manager.


KEY OBJECTIVES

  • To support the smooth running of the HR department
  • To present a professional and an employer of choice organisation image to both internal and external customers
  • To support the departmental managers within the hotel in relation to recruitment and selection, learning and development, payroll, health and safety and people management
  • To be fully compliant to Marriott & The Gate brand standards and complete brand training when required.

GENERAL

  • To audit on a monthly basis and subsequently order supplies for the first aid boxes, following department's weekly request.
  • To attend, participate and minute the Health and Safety meetings, ensuring minutes are distributed within 3 working days
  • To assist the management team in disciplinary/grievances, taking/typing accurate minutes
  • To distribute and collect personnel documentation when required, i

e:
absence forms, leavers questionnaires, job chats and appraisals

  • To ensure the staff noticeboards contain the required documentation, are uptodate and are presented in a professional and interactive manner
  • Complete annual passport and visa checks & monitor employee eligibility to work in the UK, ensuring the hotel complies with its legal obligations in terms of holding the correct documentation of the staff files. Notify the General Manager of any issues in a timely manner;
  • Complete a thorough audit on staff files twice a year and ensure all actions are completed, so that all files contain all the appropriate information
  • Contribute to and distribute newslette
  • To ensure staff files are current and filing is completed in a timely manner
  • To complete and issue employment letters to staff when required
  • To collect and collate all data from MY TEAM REPORT onto appropriate outputs; i.e. Employee of the month nominations; Learning conversations; DTCC website;
  • To be an active participant in DTCC website and support other recognition schemes within the Hotel.
  • To have knowledge of the hotel's policies and procedures (Health and Safety, HR, fire/ bomb evacuations etc.)
  • To always act in a way which minimises risk to yourself and those whom your activity affects complying with company policy and local hotel rules at all times
  • To ensure statutory training for all staff is organised
  • To attend and participate in all relevant hotel meetings and training sessions
  • To carry out any other reasonable request

MEETINGS

  • To attend, participate, minute and action relevant points from CARE and health and safety meetings
  • Ensure posters and agendas are sent out in a timely manner and that meeting rooms and equipment are booked

PAYROLL

  • To assist with the weekly payroll
  • To work with the HR Manager in the processing of the monthly payroll

TRAINING

  • To ensure all training documentation is recorded and filed in the appropriate sections of the HR management systems
  • To support HOD's in effectively managing departmental training

RECRUITMENT

  • To screen CVs' and action accordingly;
  • To ensure the HOD reviews the person specification and job description making amendments were necessary and obtains authorisation to recruit from the GM & HR Manager
  • Send out starter packs to all new employees with detailed information about hotel and departmental induction;
  • Complete the reference checks for all employees within their first month of employment
  • Place adverts for vacancies ensuring all legal compliances are met

STAFF WELFARE

  • To ensure all employees receive a birthday card and gift and that the card and gift stock is maintained
  • To assist in the organisation of the staff parties and other hotel events
  • To organise and maintain the uniform stock for all departments;

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • To participate in the health and safety meetings, taking accurate minutes and distributing them in a timely manner
  • Follow all H&S guidelines in place in the Hotel and within the department;
