We are, therefore, looking to invest in a new role - Procurement and Sustainability Manager to support our National Finance team based in the West Midlands.


The key responsibilities of the Procurement and Sustainability Manager are: -

Procurement

  • Leads an appropriate sourcing process for our 9 UK offices (including planning, defining business needs, assessing supply market, defining strategy, execution, supplier selection and contracting) that delivers the right level of service and commercial outcomesacross multisite operations
  • Secures formal stakeholder approvals for supplier selection recommendations as required
  • Ensures value for money by constantly challenging the balance between cost and service, continuously improving the what, how, when, where and why goods and services are purchased
  • Defines and executes a contract management programme (including continuous improvement, variance management, contract compliance, risk mitigation and governance) for nominated suppliers to ensure that the appropriate value is secured from contracts.

Sustainability

  • Working with the Net Zero Steering Committee, develops and agrees on climate targets that reflect Crowe UK's ambition and align with the SBTi commitment made.
  • In conjunction with other key stakeholders, maintains a longterm action plan to consistently reduce organisational greenhouse gas emissions in alignment with Crowe UK targets. Drives the required changes and supports their implementation across the firm.
  • Maintains and regularly updates the Crowe UK greenhouse gas inventory, reviews emission sources and recalculates them on an annual basis, tracks changes with a standardised and consistent approach and ensures overall emissions are decreasing over time,in alignment with the targets set.
  • In coordination with the Net Zero Steering Committee, regularly communicates with the SBTi team to ensure internal climaterelated activities and emission reduction targets are aligned with their latest guidelines.
  • Using a consistent approach aligned with the SBTi and the GHG Protocol guidelines, works with the Marketing team and the Finance team and develops qualitative and quantitative climaterelated content to be included in the relevant disclosures.
  • Engages regularly with the Impact Project Team and ensures the Net Zero activities are aligned with the wider sustainability objectives.

The Successful Applicant
The successful Procurement and Sustainability Manager will demonstrate the following:

  • Expertise in each aspect of the procurement life cycle and professional procurement best practices;
  • Proven negotiation skills;
  • Knowledge of sourcing principles and processes;
  • Understanding of key climate issues and trends and how they link to business value;
  • Analytical skills to effectively manage and maintain the greenhouse gas inventory;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Having a genuine interest in climate change and sustainability;
  • Excellent project management skills;
  • Excellent relationship management skills;
  • Experience in developing and implementing sustainability and/or climate strategies would be beneficial but not essential.
