Description
To lead and manage the Active Health operational division within the Health Directorate.

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of services, ensuring that they are safe, sustainable and of good quality.

In addition, this will include operating within the agreed financial envelope and achievement of key quality and performance indicators.


Operate as part of the Mid and South Essex ICB ensuring the ongoing development of services at neighbourhood, place and system to promote collaborative partnerships that are consistently delivered to improve patient outcomes.

This post holder will contribute to the wider sustainability and transformation plans relating to the Community Collaborative with NELFT and EPUT.

The post holder will be a CQC Registered Manager

The post holder will be required to deputise for the Director of Operations as necessary


Alongside our NHS contract in Mid Essex, this role also manages services comissioned by Local Authority partners within our ICB.

You will be someone who also has commercial acumen and is comfortable shaping new pathways and business.


Your strong people skills will enable you to work across organisational boundaries and be a highly influential leader who is a confident decision maker and able to motivate people to deliver the highest quality services.

Ensuring that designated service meets all safety, quality and clinical governance requirements, and maintains the highest standards of professionalism

Balancing the need to provide the best care for the individual patient with resource constraints. Action to improve their services

Day-to day management of resources within designated service

The job-holder will often need to communicate highly complex information effectively to staff, patients, carers and the public. This may require teaching, persuasion, explanation, and defusing sensitive and stressful situations. They will need to demonstrate considerable empathy and compassion

To lead their service team, in accordance with Provide competencies and values, in such a way as to increase engagement, collaboration and productivity, whilst minimising disputes and unhelpful conflict

Develop and maintain effective communication systems to ensure that all staff are kept informed in a timely and appropriate manner

Ensure services are at all times appropriately resourced to deliver the standard of care stipulated in supply agreements. In particular, to ensure that the service has sufficient staff of the right quality, they are properly trained/coached/mentored, performance is positively managed, and capability or conduct issues are properly addressed

Ensure that staff are resourced, trained and managed in accordance with Provide policies and procedures, including equality and diversity, and professional registration

Systems being in place to support service users to meet their recovery goals in accordance with NICE guidelines and taking account of the latest developments and thinking

The development of a culture that has open and honest discussions about clinical quality and the customer experience

Champion inclusive and diverse practices across the Provide Group

To ensure an effective risk assessment process is in place so that colleagues can report Serious Untoward Incidents and carry out Root Cause Analysis when required

Ensure that staff have access to effective clinical and professional supervision systems

Manage services within agreed operational budgets, contributing to the identification of resource requirements and ensuring that spending is controlled appropriately and spending targets met

Achieve productive services that deliver value for money through a continuous process o
