Description

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed clinical psychologist to provide a service in the Stroke Unit at Wycombe General Hospital, one of the leading stroke services in the UK.

This post is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing care to patients who have had a stroke and their families.

As the clinical psychologist in the unit, you will provide specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessment and intervention to patients on the unit.

You will also advise on the psychological care of patients and contribute to service development. Supervision will be provided by a consultant clinical neuropsychologist.

You will be part of the Psychological Services team in Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, which includes spinal cord injury, psycho-oncology, neuropsychological rehabilitation, diabetes, burns, intensive care, long covid, community paediatrics, cystic fibrosis, chronic pain and fatigue.

Clinical psychology services are highly valued within the trust and there are close links with the Oxford Institute for Clinical Psychology Training.

Applicants should have experience of working in clinical health psychology and ideally in neuropsychology and inpatient work. Experience of teaching and training is also important, as is the ability to communicate clearly psychological concepts to others.

The post would be of interest to applicants who are considering or currently pursuing the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology.
