Working on a large Defence site, this Server/Network Engineer will be one of the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) team within the Operational Security Team.

They deliver real time proactive monitoring and response to Security Threats, Incidents and Alerts utilising various tooling.

Hybrid role working 3 days per week from our Portsmouth OR Salisbury site.

You do need to be eligible for SC Clearance for this role and be prepared to go through DV in the future.

What you'll be doing:

Performing security duties, including reporting, fix, configuration and development of vulnerability management
Utilising SIEM, Huntsman/Splunk, SEPM, Trellix Endpoint Security
Completing post incident reporting
Using IOCs and log correlation tools to identify events of interest and respond to security incidents
Management of a Privileged Access toolset

What you'll bring:

Microsoft Client/Windows administration background, with a focus on server/network security
Previously held an IT support role, in a secure environment
Experience of working with virtual machines and virtual environments
Good understanding of CVEs and operating system package/patching technologies
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of ITIL (ITIL Foundation certificate or experience working in ITIL environments)

It would be great if you had:

A network engineering qualification (e.g. CCNA)
Any relevant security certification. (CISMP, Sec+, etc.)
Experience in management of the Privileged Access toolsets
ITIL Foundation
Knowledge of MoD, CESG and other mandated government IT legislation
