Senior Planning Officer


Warwickshire County Council is looking for and experienced Senior Planning Officer to take play a key role in the preparation, development and monitoring of the Minerals and Waste Local Plan Documents and provide strategic policy for special planning.


Working as part of a small Planning Policy and Infrastructure Team you will be given a varied caseload and experience linked to all aspects of planning policy and delivery.


Your responsibilities will include:


Taking a leading role in the preparation of the Minerals and Waste Local Plan Document's, including the Plan's evidence base, including the Local Aggregates Assessment (LAA), Aggregates Working Party (AWP) returns, Sustainability Appraisal and Habitiat Regulations Assessment (HRA), as well as the Annual Monoitoring Report.

To facilitate and co-ordiance County Council responces on a range of Planning and Planning Policy Consultations


To make representations on a range of strategies and plans to maximise the input and influence of the County Council.


To provide strategic guidance and advice on strategic planning matters to colleagues and partners at the local, sub-regional and national level.

To assist in the formulation of strategic policy and advise on its implementation and monitoring.


With good political and commercial awareness, and strong communication skills, you will have a gift for influencing others and leading partnerships and be committed to evidence-based decision making.
