We are looking for a Facilities Supervisor to provide effective leadership to the Facilities staff within the Facilities Department and to be responsible for co-ordination of duties throughout the Department within an allocated area.
To organise the allocation of staff within the Department, so that all duties are covered by the flexible use of staff to ensure the smooth running of the service.
To be instrumental in the development of quality initiatives and in ensuring excellent service provision and adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
This post is a key link between the Facilities Site Manager for the further development of the service for both patients and staff.
To liaise directly with the hospital wards and patients as part of the Department's quality initiatives.To ensure the Department's philosophy of quality care and customer service is reflected in practice.

Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.
Monitor the quality of the services produced using the in-house monitoring procedure and achieve personal monitoring targets as set by the Facilities Services Site Manager.
Conduct daily ward/department visits to assess first-hand standard of service levels and to gain an insight into the perception of the service of users.
In conjunction with the Facilities Site Manager, ensure Facilities practices and procedures are adhered to correctly when completing the full range of duties.
To ensure that the cleaning products and material items are stored correctly and that there is an appropriate amount available for staff to carry out their duties.
To ensure that the standard of cleaning/catering is consistently maintained.
To ensure that all staff follow all procedures for the Facilities services.
To carry out appropriate risk assessment of their work area, making sure staff are aware and abide by these practices.
To conduct staff appraisals of team members in order to ensure the individual's personal development and to assist the Facilities Site Manager in producing a team training plan.
To identify any shortfall in the skill base of staff and ensure that standards are maintained through the organisation and staff attendance of mandatory and follow-up training.
Ensure that members of staff attempting NVQ Level I and II receive the appropriate support and training to ensure their success.
Ensure that all service staff are aware of the standards required of them with regard to their practices and procedures.
Liaise with the Facilities Site Manager to ensure that customers receive what they need.
To be positive and reactive to change and ensure that the service is flexible and responsive to customer needs.
To meet regularly with ward / department managers and hospital patients to ascertain their satisfaction with the service.
Responsible for ensuring that staff are aware of what is required through the use of communication and individual appraisal.
Responsible for the individual moral of staff and for coaching staff through the process of change and new procedures.
Ensure that the Facilities Team is organised efficiently and effectively based on the most cost-effective method. (Allocating / cover absences and ensuring consistent service provision.
Conduct return to work interviews with staff to ascertain sickness / absence issues, analyse and react to trends.
Authorise timesheets and allocation of overtime and extra service needs.
Co-ordinate periodic portable appliance testing for all electrical equipment
