Empower Active are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and nurturing person to join their growing team as an After School Club Assistant.
The role as After School Club Assistant includes:
- Planning and delivering daily activities in a safe and happy environment
- Being responsible for safeguarding children
- Preparing a healthy snack / small meal
- Liaise with parents
- Manage the booking system for the club
- Manage and work alongside other staff on the club
- Continuously promote the welfare of the children in your care.
- Show high levels of energy, enthusiasm and professionalism, acting as a suitable role model for the children.
- Ensure all policies and procedures on site are adhered to by yourself and the children in your care, including all health and safety and safeguarding procedures.
- Hold good level of life skills for other adhoc duties such as cleaning, equipment maintenance etc).
The hours:
- 7.30am 8.45am Monday to Friday (6.25 hours)
- 2.30pm 6pm Monday to Friday (17.5 hours)
- 2.5 hours planning/prep and shopping time
Empower work with schools in Worcestershire providing high quality PE, physical activity, extra curricular clubs and health & wellbeing programmes.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience of working with children and delivering activities.
- A flexible team player, able to adapt to dynamic situations and challenges on camp.
- Be enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about developing children through play and activity.
- Able to change and tailor delivery of structure of a session according to age and ability.
- Holds a level 2 NGB or qualified in a relevant sport, art, performing art, teaching or childcare qualification.
Desirable:
- Experience taking sole charge of a group of children.
- Meets standard minimum operations qualifications (First Aid at work, Paediatric First aid 12 / 6 hour)
- DBS on the update service
Job Type:

Part-time hours: 27 per week
Salary:
£11.00-£13.00 per hour
