The technology and experience of Nasmyth comp- Responsible for assembling parts to ensure that all assemblies are correctly assembled in accordance with customer requirements and company quality specifications.
- Carrying out various assembling and fitting principles (eg marking out castings, rudder pedal assembly, flap assembly), in order to ensure that all parts are correctly assembled in accordance with customer requirements and company quality specifications, therefore minimising scrap.
- Interpreting drawings and quality specifications, to ensure parts are correctly assembled to customer requirements and company quality specifications.
- Designing and producing mandrels, jigs and fixtures, where applicable, in order to assist with assembly requirements.
- Following Data Sheets, to ensure part is progressed through the factory on time and on the correct pathway.
- Carrying out quality checks on own work using measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers, gauges etc, to ensure the part is assembled to drawing specification.
- Carrying out daily and weekly TPM checks, to ensure machine and equipment is correctly maintained and to minimise breakdowns.
- Carrying out continuous improvement, Lean and 5s activities in cell, to facilitate principles of Continuous Improvement throughout the company.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, ensuring guidelines are followed in accordance with the Company Health & Safety policy and legislative requirements.
- Working in accordance with the company's policies and goals to ensure consistency across the Business Unit structure.
- Any other duties that may reasonably be required by the Company from time to time.
Skills/Experience:
- Mechanical Apprentice trained or qualified by experience.
- Good working knowledge of quality standards and procedures, (ideally aerospace).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong team player and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.
- Selfmotivated with the ability to multitask, with guidance and supervision.
