About The Service

Glamorgan Archives collects, preserves and makes available to the public documents relating to the history of Glamorgan dating from the 12th century to the present day.

Over 12km of documents are held in the strongrooms of its purpose-built facility.

We are looking to employ a Project Officer based at Glamorgan Archives, Clos Parc Morgannwg, Leckwith, Cardiff CF11 8AW to support delivery of the creation of a research guide to sources for the study of Minority Ethnic history.

The project is funded through the Welsh Government's Anti Racist Wales Culture Heritage and Sport Fund and supports delivery of its Anti-Racist Action Plan.


About the job

In this Project Officer role you will support delivery of a research guide to sources for the study of Minority Ethnic history.

You will oversee the project, holding responsibility for the recruitment of project volunteers and researchers, their training and supervision, and the management of the data they produce.

You will publicise and promote the project and liaise with project partners, including Race Council Cymru and community volunteer organisations.

Working hours will be flexible during our office hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
