About Devon Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Services.


DRCSAS exists to relieve the trauma and distress and help rebuild the lives of survivors living in Devon and Torbay who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any point in their lives.


DRCSAS also campaigns and raises awareness about rape and sexual violence to change the narrative around sexual violence and to enable survivors' voices to be heard.


DRCSAS works to feminist principles, which underpin our service, and we maintain a woman only workforce and women only support spaces four days a week.

Our work is guided by a trauma-informed approach which understands how traumatic experiences can impact on survivors and keeps an awareness of the effects of trauma at the forefront of our approach.


Role Overview:
Are you an experienced administrator with a passion for working in an organisation, offering high quality support to victims of Sexual Violence?

Are you task driven, organised but also a woman who can also work on their own initiative?

We are currently seeking an experienced Administrator for our Business Coordinator role.


With our business changing and evolving, the day to day work of this person would be varied to include project work, but would also ensure good governance of the business.

This role is a key enabler for the sustainability of our charity, without which achieving our charitable objectives would be more limited.

This role supports the work of the organisation to ensure we continue to meet the needs of victim survivors. You will be joining a passionate team of woman at a time of exciting developments.

This post is restricted to female applicants only under Schedule 9, part 1, Equalities Act 2010.

We will make reasonable adjustments to the working environment as required.

Applicants will undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before

appointment and a mandatory right to work check.

The post includes participation in an evening on-call rota and occasional weekend work.


Salary:
£23, 400 plus 2% cost of living increase from the 1st of April 24 (Spinal point 1 on a 5-year annual incremental scale. Details of which will be provided on appointment)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week to include Wednesday afternoons

Main Office Base is Exeter, with occasional hybrid working between other offices and home


Contract:
Permanent

Pension: 6% contribution by employer

Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro rata)

Role Overview
The coordinator role offers a key business function across the whole organisation enabling it to function and thrive.

The role is offered with a generic job description to enable coordinators to support each other, develop and widen their skill base across roles and to provide important business continuity for the organisation.

The coordination role enables DRCSAS to achieve its mission and vision through a number of different functions which could include supporting service delivery, volunteer support, fundraising, education, training, activism and business administration.


Key Responsibilities

Coordination tasks

  • To coordinate key business processes and procedures
  • To follow recognised standards, frameworks and guidance in work deliverables
  • Enable staff, trustees and volunteers to able to give their best in their roles by providing supporting information and through the effective coordination of key business processes
  • Complete essential organisational tasks to ensure the smooth running of the charity, which may include managing rota's, managing waiting lists, and providing stakeholder communication
  • Where the role focuses on the delivery of training or education; create and develop training programmes for external and internal audiences, facilitate core training programmes for volunteers, staff and trustees, delivering them in line with aims, objectives and learning outcomes to ensures learners are able to get their needs met
  • Provide key information to enable effective engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Complete key admin functions

Business continuity

  • Work with other coordinators to ensure key business processes are delivered when there is sickness, absence, holiday or protracted training requirements
  • Plan together business processes to support each other at critical times of need
  • Develop together new approaches which make the business more efficient
  • Ensure guidance and instructions are readily available in an accessible way to reduce the risk of key processes and procedures being hindered
