As the Maintenance Person you will positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around the home, supporting the home manager to maintain a safe environment for residents in our care.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the standards of the home are maintained.


Main duties of the role:


  • Undertake all routine maintenance tasks and minor general repair work as requested by the Home Manager or Estates Manager.
  • To check the maintenance request book for tasks to be completed.
  • Set priorities of maintenance tasks with the Estates Manager and review regularly.
  • Keeping accurate records and providing a report to the Estates Manager and Home Manager on a weekly basis.
  • On a weekly basis undertake tasks checking and documenting the fire alarm test and routine checks of the fire doors security doors, and window restrictors and emergency lighting checks.
  • On a monthly basis undertake delegated responsibilities for the visual check of the firefighting apparatus e.g., extinguishers.
  • Checking of water temperatures of sinks, baths on a monthly basis.
  • Cleaning shower heads and waste traps.
  • Change light bulbs and clean light shades or fittings as required.
  • Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.

Other requirements:


  • Experience in general repairs/maintenance
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good problem solving skills and able to manage priorities
  • Driving license/car owner is preferred

Salary:
£9.65-£10.02 per hour
