Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real contribution to students' success at University?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Academic Skills Tutor to join our Library Academic Support Team, providing academic skills support to students at Leeds Beckett through our popular Skills for Learning service.

Working with a team of Academic Skills Tutors and Academic Librarians, you will support students to develop academic skills by providing in-curriculum teaching, online learning resources, open workshops/webinars and one-to-one appointments.

You will build strong partnerships with academic staff in the Schools to integrate academic skills into the curriculum.

The Library Academic Support Team supports the development of a wide range of academic skills, including research skills, academic communication, maths, statistics and IT skills.

This post will specialise in the area of academic communication, which includes supporting all aspects and types of academic writing, as well as a range of academic skills including critical thinking, independent learning and presentation skills.

You should have excellent academic communication skills, and experience of teaching academic skills both face to face and online at higher education level.

You will also have experience of using learning technologies to support students in their academic skills development.

Parttime 0.9FTE hours a week._
