Sustainit has a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team, perfect for someone looking to gain valuable experience across and portfolio of industries and clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for helping clients assess, develop, and implement effective strategies to reduce their carbon footprint and improve their ESG performance.


Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be confident working independently and part of a broader client support team.

This role requires strong analytical skills, expertise in sustainability, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients to achieve their sustainability goals.

You'll have the chance to work with and learn from our experienced client support team, working on meaningful projects and contributing your expert knowledge internally and externally.

Day to day responsibilities:


  • Carbon Footprint Assessments: Conducting thorough assessments of clients' carbon emissions. Analysing the data and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Supporting our data consultants to gather, analyse, and interpret a broad spectrum of sustainability data.
  • ESG

Strategy Development:

Collaborating and consulting clients to understand their sustainability goals and develop comprehensive strategies and action plans tailored to their business objectives.


  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed of the latest environmental regulations and ensure clients' practices are in line with local, national, and international standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with various stakeholders via presentations, workshops and engagement sessions.
  • Client Management: Support with project management activities and client management including timelines, quoting and contract creation and liaison.
  • Reporting: Support clients in developing ESG and sustainability reports for internal and external audiences, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Market Trends and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to carbon management and ESG and provide insights to clients as well as the wider Sustainit team.

Relevant experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field
  • IEMA environmental management foundation certificate (PIEMA preferred) or similar qualification
  • 12 years proven experience in carbon management, ESG, or sustainability consulting.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and standards related to carbon emissions and ESG reporting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong project management skills.

Salary (Dependant on role and experience): £28,000 - £32,000
