Job Title:
SEN/Behaviour Support Assistant


Location:
Rotherham Special School


Working Days:
To be confirmed


Responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students in the classroom
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering effective learning activities
  • Supporting students with their personal care and well being
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner
  • Building positive relationships with students and their families
  • Participating in regular meetings with the class teacher and other support staff

Requirements:


  • Experience working with students with Moderate to Severe learning difficulties and emotional, social and behavioural issues
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour
  • Background working in a pupil referral unit, secure mental health facility or prison (preferred, but not essential)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude
A Team Teach qualification would be an advantage for this role, but it is not essential.

This is a temp to perm role, with working days and hours to be confirmed. Initially, you will be pay rolled through Tradewind on timesheets and then going onto contract with the school. We offer a supportive working environment and opportunities for professionaldevelopment.
