An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the friendly and conscientious housekeeping team at Westhaven Hospital to assist in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness requirements in a hospital environment.

The hours of work will be 18 hours per week - working afternoons.


Please note the shifts are:

Monday: 5pm to 8pm,


Thursday: 3pm to 8pm,


Friday: 4pm to 8pm,


Saturday: 5pm to 8pm,


Sunday: 5 pm to 8pm


Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.


You will be required to provide a high standard of cleanliness in clinical and non-clinical areas to comply with the Cleanliness in Hospitals Initiative.

Clean any areas of hospital/clinic as required by the supervisory staff

Carry out cleaning programme/schedules as required by the supervisory staff Observe all safety practices including the prevention of cross infection by the use of colour coded equipment

Observe clinical waste procedures disposing of household waste as directed by domestic supervisors

Knowledge of cleaning procedures and COSHH

Follow safe systems of work and report hazards to the Hospital Services Manager in accordance with Health and Safety procedures
