Location:
Nicholas Court, Newham


Hours: 37.5 hours per week


Salary:
£24,910 per annum

Advance is a highly reputable charitable organisation which specialise in Learning Disabilities and Mental Health throughout the UK, and we are excited to be recruiting for Two enthusiastic and inspiring Senior Practitioners - Autism and Positive Behaviour Support, in our specialist Autism and Complex support service, providing support to people aged 16-25 years in Poole


About the role


As the Senior Practitioner - Autism and Positive Behaviour Support, you will be responsible for supporting, coaching, and developing support workers practice within the service.

Working closely with the Autism & Positive Behaviour Support Manager in leading, developing, monitoring, and evaluating support practice in line with Advance policies and procedures, best practice, contractual and regulatory standards.


On occasion you may be asked to be responsible for the line management of Support Workers for a short period when your manager is on leave.


About you

  • A positive, creative, and motivated person who's committed to the principles of personcentred practice, partnership working and PBS
  • Have a strong understanding of PBS, autism, active support, and personcentred practice.
  • Have the skills to coach and develop individuals and teams to continually improve and develop support practice.
  • Ensure support teams feel valued and supported, understand what is expected of them and have the skills and tools to undertake their role to the best of their ability, to be the best they can be.


Success in your role means individuals who draw on our support get the highest quality support and are empowered to live their best lives.


To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Two years practical experience of supporting people with autism and/or complex behaviour
  • Level 4 or equivalent professional/management qualification, or a commitment to undertake.
  • Experience of implementing and reviewing support profiles for people with autism and/or complex behaviour
  • Experience of personcentred planning and active support
  • Experience of working inclusively with people supported and their circles of support
  • Experience of managing risk and the ability to demonstrate what to do when things go wrong
