Quality and Compliance Officer
to join our team based in
Wilford. You will join us on a
full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary.

With over 600,000 SKU's, the primary duty is the ongoing management of supplier purchasing to ensure we achieves both optimal performance and price from our extensive supplier base.


Responsibilities of our Quality and Compliance Officer:

  • Advise management to ensure company compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to identify areas of noncompliance and determine whether policies and processes are compliant with the relevant laws and regulations.
  • In conjunction with management, investigate and create effective action plans in response to audit discoveries, compliance violations or adverse events.
  • Act as contact person and liaison between department heads and senior management.
  • Collaborate with all company departments to create a culture of compliance.
  • Remain informed and up to date with environmental standards, relevant laws and regulations.
  • Communicate confidentially with employees, at all levels, and address any concerns staff may have about ethical or other compliance matters within a department or division.
  • Support request for Information (RFI) and request for quotation (RFQs) which are received by the business.
  • Provide handson team training, coaching and mentoring to management and employees to ensure all staff are informed of any legal changes and updates to compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and HR, as required.
  • Facilitate and lead process redesign workshops, as required.
  • Implement and monitor a suitable waste management plan for the premises and advise other group premises on local implementation.
  • Support the facilities team and the wider SLS group when required.

What we're looking for in our Quality and Compliance Officer**:

  • You will be commercially aware, hands-on, analytical, and logical. You will thrive on challenge and take a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • It is essential that you have a willingness to learn, can challenge yourself, have a strong sense of initiative and have the desire to grow as an individual as well as part of the business.
  • IT literate and able to extract, analyse and examine data to provide concise reports and advice to management.
  • A "Can Do" attitude, and ability to be flexible in approach to different working styles, shift patterns and job roles.
  • The ability to communicate confidently and effectively across all levels of the business and able to tailor communication style according to the audience.
  • Passion for working independently and as part of the team.
  • Selfmotivation and determination to succeed in a fast paced, challenging environment.
  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be prepared to travel to other group companies to attend meetings and reviews, if required.
  • Must be prepared to work flexibly with additional hours to meet deadlines, should the need arise.
