The Extracare Charitable Trust are recruiting a
Student Support and Placement Coordinator on a permanent contract to join our supportive team,
at our
Head Offices based in Coventry, CV3 2SN.

Role: Student Support and Placement Coordinator:


  • Hours: 37.

5 hours per week:

Salary: £33,000pa, plus £3,500 car allowance (Pay Award pending April 2023):


  • Location: Head Office, Coventry (hybrid working with extensive travel to locations required)
As our
Student Support and Placement Coordinator, you will be expected to carry out the following tasks:

  • To support the Student Practice Education Project scheme, overseeing healthcare student placements across all ExtraCare locations;
  • To support and coordinate student placements from various healthcare settings.;
  • Liaise with Universities within your areas of responsibility and support the development of the scheme to widen placements across all of ExtraCare's locations;
  • Being the link between ExtraCare and partners including all local Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) closest to our ExtraCare locations, to facilitate the smooth running of the student placement programme, ensuring that all stakeholders receive a high quality service;
  • Enhance cooperation between practice areas and academia; and
  • Travel required across all of our locations to offer support/induction programmes to students and ExtraCare staff.

Person Specification

  • Significant experience in working with students and overseeing HEI placements.
  • Experience of working with older people, long term conditions and the management of these.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and can demonstrate ability to work with others
  • Competent in computer skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and can demonstrate awareness of MDT functioning
  • Communicate and collaborate with students/practice education team/location teams
  • Manage time effectively
  • Provide an induction for new students
  • Implement quality improvements modify placement based on feedback/evaluation
  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist or NMC registered Nurse preferred.
