An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Medical Directorate to play a key role in the Clinical Effectiveness agenda across the Directorate, and in alignment with the Health Board's existing Quality and Safety structures.
The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating clinical effectiveness activities across the Health Board in a key Medical Directorate role.
West Wales:
Our Future Generations Living Well ', and associated plans, the post holder will be responsible for working with the Head of Effective Clinical Practice and Quality Improvement (Medical Directorate) to design and deliver systems and processes which support clinical service areas to assess themselves against local and national clinical effectiveness standards; and align with the existing quality improvement framework to enable this learning to lead to improvements in the quality of services provided to our population.
This post sits within the Medical Directorate.The post holder will play a key role in improving the quality of patient care by helping the Health Board to achieve implementation of NICE and other national clinical guidance, whilst at the same time achieving financial balance.
This is with the exception of NICE Technology Appraisals Guidance and All Wales Medicines Strategy Group medicines advice:these are managed by the Medicines Management Team.
The post holder will have delegated responsibility for the coordination, implementation and monitoring of the process for effective implementation of NICE guidance and other national or professional guidance.
They will actively support managers and health professionals in achieving implementation of NICE and other national guidance within current financial constraints and will work across the health community whenever appropriate.
The post holder will assist the Health Board in ensuring that patients receive effective treatment and care that conforms to nationally agreed best practice, particularly as defined by NICE guidance.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties.
Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales.

48 general practices (six of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
