ABOUT THE JOB.

So much so, we even created our own internal brand. Ensuring all our colleagues go home safely to their families and friends. And our Health & Safety Coordinators play a part in making sure this happens.


As Health & Safety Coordinator, it's your job to support the Health and Safety Manager to ensure operations meet all prescribed Health and Safety requirements, in line with legislative and company standards; and to help maintain accurate and timely records for compliance purposes.

Helping prevent harm to workers, property, the environment, and the public through implementation of procedures on site.


You will also

  • Ensure the plant H&S systems meet regulatory and thirdparty audit standard
  • Establishing practices to maintain a safe working environment and hold people to account for those standards
  • Challenging unsafe behaviors
  • Provide daytoday H&S advice and support, maintaining and improving supporting documentation as required
  • Communication with regulatory bodies on behalf of the company
  • Work with the QA/Technical Team on the implementation and continuous improvement of the Feed Management system in line with FEMAS requirements.
  • Be proactive, working with other departments to develop HSE culture to move the business forward
  • Ensure robust processes and procedures are in place, to achieve and maintain standards and external accreditation
  • Identify, organise and supervise contracted service requirements as and when required.
  • Ensure team are adequately trained to be competent in the role, are legally, and audit compliant
  • Assist in routine certification audits including Health, safety, environmental, food safety and FEMAS
  • Carry out internal audits to ensure compliance prior to third party audits
  • Involvement in safety meetings and all safety related activities such as accident investigation, near miss reporting, etc

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR.


We're looking for someone that is working in a Health & Safety role with manufacturing experience, ideally within a large FMCG business.

Someone who prides themselves on the standard and quality of their work, and who has a high attention to detail as well as being able to inspire and influence others to lead by example.

You must also have

  • Knowledge of internal auditing, HSE legislation and AIB Gold, BRC and FEMAS
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in H&S
  • IEMA Certificate (or equivalent)
  • And strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft programmes including Excel.

WHERE WILL I WORK?
You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough.

If you've spotted our three wind turbines, then you'll know where we are With about 350 employees on site, we're one of our largest plants across the GB business.

Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
