We are the Marine Conservation Society, a UK charity fighting for a cleaner, better-protected, healthier ocean: one we can all enjoy.
Using people-powered action and with science on our side, we defend habitats and species, working with communities, businesses and governments to encourage ocean-based climate action solutions across the UK.
We are now looking for a Beachwatch Administrator to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis, working 14 hours per week, Wednesday - Friday.

You'll be stepping into an exciting and varied role, co-ordinating events that bring communities together to clean up our coastlines and rivers, contributing to restoring these vital ecosystems and driving forward changes for a healthier planet.
The Role
As our Beachwatch Administrator, you will support the co-ordination of a range of exciting events we run across the UK.
Acting as the central point of contact for event enquiries, you will provide advice and support over the phone regarding planning, logistics, permissions and equipment.
You will also run our beach cleans, checking and approving events, supporting organisers to find locations and checking our Beachwatch online web pages and resources to ensure they are up to date.
Additionally, you will:
- Assist in the coordination of staff events
- Support staff participation in the Great British Beach Clean
- Deliver training to volunteer groups on Beachwatch methodology and surveying
- Support internal communications and maintenance of our SharePoint Library and website
About You
To be considered as our Beachwatch Administrator, you will need:
- Knowledge of database management and the manipulation of data
- The ability to deal with enquiries from the public
- Excellent project and event management skills
- A full valid driving licence
Please note, this role will involve some travel and occasional overnight stays as well as moving event equipment such as gazebos, folding tables, banners, etc.
