About Us:

We are a specialist drilling contractor operating a fleet of drilling rigs across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Our main base is located in Alloa, Stirling with an additional base located in Thatcham, Berkshire. Our land drilling operations cover many sectors including geotechnical, environmental, renewables, mining and aggregates.


Role Purpose:


This role is mainly based in Alloa, Stirling working on our large fleet of drilling rigs and support equipment within a team of experienced mechanics.

However, some travel throughout the UK and occasionally abroad will be required with flexibility needed to react to maintenance issues as required.

You will ensure that drilling equipment is serviced, maintained and repaired to the required standards of the business under the direction of the Senior workshop representative.

In addition, general workshop housekeeping and communal duties will be required under direction of the Senior representative.


What you'll be doing:

As a
PLANT MECHANIC ASSISTANT, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • To report to and follow work instruction from the Senior Workshop representative
  • Assist with maintenance tasks on our specialist drilling and ancillary equipment
  • Work as part of a team and support and assist others in yard and maintenance tasks
  • Carry out planned as well as reactive maintenance across supplementary plant and equipment
  • To have a proactive approach to tidiness and maintain clean and orderly work and work areas, including works vehicle
  • Adhering to all health and safety guidelines, yard and workshop rules
  • To assist looking out all spare parts as and when required
  • Undertake relevant training to meet business requirements
  • To work regular paid weekday & weekend overtime as required
  • To conduct additional tasks as and when required within your capabilities

Who we're looking for:


  • Previous experience within either a workshop or field based position
  • Excellent Communication Skills able to communicate effectively in order to achieve results in a fast paced environment
  • The ability to manage and prioritise workload
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical functions
  • Flexible approach to working hours and activities able to go that extra mile when required and revise approach to meet operational requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety requirements in the workplace
  • Ability to interact with others and work as a part of a team
  • To hold a full UK driving licence
