The role reports to the Managing Director & Responsible Officer.


Job Role:


As Quality Manager you will be responsible for the quality and compliance for EPA delivery, specifically relating to assessment delivery and moderation.

You will support quality initiatives, reporting and responses to information requests. You will be partof the management team and share responsibility for ensuring organisational quality and compliance on quality matters.

  • Authoring and updating the EPA quality assurance strategy and ensuring it is delivered
  • Leading on quality improvement planning and ensuring work is carried out
  • Investigating data from assessment outcomes and moderation reports to address/correct any issues in assessment delivery
  • Updating the risk register in relation to quality matters
  • Supporting on awarding decisions, as appropriate
  • Any other matters, as directed by the MD
  • Undertaking monthly EPAs to ensure your EPA practice remains currrent
  • Responsible for End Point Assessment team members, including assessors and moderators:
  • Recruiting and selecting assessors and moderators
  • Producing onboarding and training plans and delivering training to the team
  • Monitoring individual's CPD, participation in standardisation and supporting their development
  • Monitoring sampling and assessment activity and ensuring effective and consistent feedback is given to learners, where relevant
  • Ensuring effective feedback is given to assessors and moderators
  • Keeping team members informed of changes and updated on arrangements
  • Ensuring quality assurance policies and procedures are in place and being followed, including:
  • Sampling plans
  • Standardisation plans
  • Moderation policy and processes
  • Induction of IEPAs & Moderators
  • Training of IEPAs and Moderators
  • Induction and briefing of external assessment developers
  • Safeguarding
  • Results monitoring, including:
  • Regular and timely review, analysis and reporting of results data
  • Advising IQAs on aspects of highrisk areas to focus on
  • Quality checking:
  • EPA guidance and information is complete using all 4 EPA check lists
  • Assessment tools and materials, including guidance for assessors checked for Ofqual compliance
  • Assessment quality controls and related assessment delivery reflects the live Ifate assessment plans
  • EPA SLA and journey information correct and added to Summit
  • Leading on best practice, compliance and regulatory requirements by:
  • Supporting responses to ESFA/EQAP requests for information and evidence
  • Supporting arrangements for EPA launch, expansion and improvement
  • Ensuring policy, processes and good practices are adopted and followed
  • Leading staff/team training sessions, including standardisation events
  • Working with the team to ensuring policy and processes are updated, according to schedules
  • Keeping uptodate on sector and regulatory news and sharing information, as appropriate
  • Producing reports and information to support the governing body and advisory group meetings
  • Participating in the evaluations of assessment tools and materials
  • Provide updates to RO on any possible events notifications
  • Teamwork, that will involve:
  • Participation in management team meetings
  • Crossteam working

Knowledge, skills and experience in the following:

  • Quality assurance experience
  • Previous experience in EPA delivery and its management
  • Understanding of the regulatory framework from ESFA, IfATE & Ofqual for EPA delivery
  • Understanding the interests of the various stakeholders in an Apprenticeship
  • Accurate and clear written English and good spoken communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work
