Job Summary

What is the Opportunity?
Senior Operations Associate working in the Securities Support team in the Operations department.

Involved in day-to-day tasks around matching trades and maintaining/improving STP rates as well as longer term projects to increase efficiency additional tasks including opening new markets.


What will you do?

  • Matching of all Fixed Income, Equity and Repo trades
  • Engage in daily checks to ensure business critical controls are being adhered to.
  • Implement improvement processes and controls to support the business.
  • Managing the operational risk and management reporting for the team
  • Be involved in active cash management.
  • Working closely with Fund Custodians, Prime Brokers, Clearers and Administrators to ensure all trade capture and reporting requirements are adhered to
  • Working closely with external vendors to understand key trade flow requirements, Bank Ledger postings and cash payment deadlines
  • Helping to maintain the relationships between Operations and external middle/back office providers
  • Working closely with front office personnel to ensure quick and accurate trade processing, making amendments & enhancements to this process where appropriate
  • Liaising with external and internal parties to open new market accounts
  • Liaising with external and internal parties to facilitate new broker trading relationships
  • Setting up new funds internally, liaising with internal teams as well as custodians where appropriate
  • Taking full ownership demonstrating full awareness of any system upgrades and enhancements, and any potential regulatory breaches
  • Actively resolving any position issues raised by the desk or Finance and investigating as necessary to identify the root cause
  • Contributing towards weekly updates for senior management

  • Fixed Income knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong capacity and desire to use initiative

  • Ability to demonstrate commercial thinking alongside a positive, 'cando' attitude to all aspects of work

  • Ability to respond quickly and positively to change and maintains effectiveness when experiencing change
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with matching of trades
  • Experience with DTCC CTM, ALERT and Bloomberg
