The Client
My Client specialises in supplying the corporate 4-star market and the budget hotel sector and are seeking a talented individual to take on the role of Engineer in a busy and challenging environment.
This is very much a hands-on role, in which you will providevital support to the business and contribute with the smooth running of the organisation in a small team.
We are looking for a highly versatile, professional, and self-motivated individual, who will be part of an engineering team involved in a dynamic and varied role helping to support the smooth running of one of their Production facilities.
You will work on a 2-shift system on a 4 on 4 off rotation 6am-6pm/6pm-6am
Salary will be £39,100 per annum
Job Duties
- To take a full and active role in the overall management and operation of the Engineering Department;
- To be assist with the creation, planning and organisation and implementation of all planned preventative maintenance activities;
- To review systems for monitoring of all plant and machinery and be proactive in seeking remedies to minimise any down time which may affect the operation of the production facility;
- To review, monitor and maintain safe systems of work for the engineering team in consultation with the Engineering team and General Manager and the company's health & safety adviser;
- Assist with the Managing of storage and ordering of spare parts and other essential equipment;
- Assist with the installation and annual review of key plant and machinery, monitoring performance and recording and reporting material defects to Directors of the Company;
- Help develop an asset register;
- Liaise with Production team to ensure any required maintenance or emergency repairs minimise disruption whilst ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards;
- Take proactive role in daily, weekly and monthly machinery checks and repairs;
- Deal with other daytoday housekeeping issues across the business covering electrical and mechanical equipment; and
- Adhere to strictest confidentiality standards with regards all Company financial and salary matters.
Technical or Special Knowledge, Experience or Training:
Essential:
Qualified, multi-skilled engineer. Previous working experience gained in a manufacturing environment. The role requires an individual who has broad experience across the engineering field. Self-starter. PC literate.
Desirable:
Experience of Lean/continuous improvement type environment.
Any Other Requirements:
This role will require some flexibility and a high level of commitment.
Must be able to work on own initiative and be a confident decision maker able to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
