About us
KEW technology has developed a waste gasification process that has been demonstrated in its own facility called Sustainable Energy Centre in Wednesbury.
The same-size plant will be commercially proposed and delivered to the market as highly-standardized industrially pre-assembled skids, to enable a robust risk mitigation for on-site construction activities.
We are now looking to recruit anElectrical and Instrumentation CAD Designer to join our fantastic team.
Duties:
- As a E&I CAD Designer you will have a good working knowledge and experience of AutoCAD (or similar CAD packages, 3D and 2D) and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Your role will be to support the Electrical & Instrumentation engineering discipline through the production of high quality, single line diagrams, loop diagrams, general arrangement drawings, Hookup drawings, cable routing drawings etc. You should be enthusiastic and conscientious about the work you produce, leading by example with good attention to detail. You will also have the ability to learn quickly and work methodically under your own initiative, as well as part of a team.
- Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 years' experience working within oil and gas related industries.
- To complement this, you will have an engineering background and recognised engineering qualifications, with an electrical / instrumentation bias, together with an awareness and commitment to health, safety and environmental procedures relating to design and construction activities.
- Manage 3D CAD design for cable tray layouts, Instrument & JB location drawings.
- Support existing project portfolio upgrades through modification of existing designs.
- Recommend improvements or modifications to existing electrical works if appropriate and to link in with Sales for any future opportunities to expand the company portfolio.
- Ensure the design aspect of your assigned projects/tasks continues to meet and exceed internal and external expectations including quality and conforms to applicable legislations and standards.
- Liaise with electrical subcontractors to ensure new designs are implemented to standard.
- Investigate and validate loops / electrical design within the pilot plant at SEC.
- Ensure project related markup are prioritized and converted to As Built promptly.
- You will work closely with other departments including Project & Engineering, Operations, Maintenance as required.
Qualifications and skills:
- Minimum 57 years' experience in a Engineering Design environment.
- Educated to degree or HND/HNC level in an Engineering discipline.
- Ability to read, understand and create electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
Key skills required:
- Experience of electrical & Instrument systems, Control Systems is advantageous and ATEX & DSEAR requirements is advantageous although not essential.
- Experience in BOM Creation, Datasheets, Spreadsheets, etc.
- Experience of producing Electrical Schematics using design software AutoCAD 2D & 3D.
- A proven track record of managing the design of projects.
- A sound working knowledge of AC/DC systems up to 400Vac.
- Knowledge of standard: BS7671, IEC 60079, IEC 60204, IEC
- Excellent Team working and communication skills.
- A good theoretical understanding of electrical engineering principles.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Collaborative and willing to support the departmental objectives
- Proactive approach to support the business goals
- The ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to assess workload and commit to realistic timelines.
- Can identify risks both technical and commercial with design clash etc.
