Kitchen Porter - Queens Park Community School

About The Role And Benefits;

Responsibilities And Duties;

  • Service and cleanliness will be a top priority for you. There's washing up and cleaning the kitchen and equipment to Pabulum's high standards to create a kitchen to be proud of.
  • You'll ensure that pots and cooking utensils are clean and properly stored away.
  • Make our cutlery trays are clean and the cutlery shine.
  • Once everything is clean, you'll ensure the dishwasher is empty and clean and any rubbish is taken away.
  • You will assist with the setting out of tables and chairs for meal service and be responsible for the clearing away of restaurant furniture as required.
  • You will help with receiving deliveries and storing them away correctly, ensuring stock is rotated properly.
  • You'll alert the manager of any shortages in delivery.
  • There will be other kitchen and catering duties which may be considered necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen, service area and restaurant.

About you;

  • Catering experience is desirable but we're always happy to train the right person
  • You'll need to be friendly and approachable and able to build relationships with our clients and regular customers.
  • Loyalty and flexibility together with a passion for food is a must.
  • You'll get essential training on Food Hygiene and Health & Safety and there's plenty of opportunity to further your career.
  • Present yourself in a professional, in the correct Pabulum uniform, which includes a name badge.


As you will be working in Education, you must provide two employment/character references and we'll also carry out an Enhanced DBS / Criminal Record Check as well (which we'll pay for).
