Are you an enthusiastic ecologist with quantitative skills?

Would you thrive on working on a range of projects on the topic of biological invasions?

Reporting to Group Leader for Population Ecology
Professor Helen Roy
you'll be using your skills to compile and analyse data and information to inform risk assessments and modelling alongside expertelicitation approaches. The work considers evidence from multiple approaches, including expert assessment, data compilation and biodiversity modelling. Our aim is to better understand biological invasions to help inform policy and decisionmaking across the UK, Europe and globally.

Main Responsibilities Support the delivery of projects on biological invasions Evidence synthesis on biological invasions Conduct statistical analysis, integrating expert knowledge and biodiversity data Contribute to writing results for publication in peer reviewed literature Organise workshops and facilitate expertelicitationHere are some essential skills we are looking for:
  • A higher degree in ecology or environmental sciences
Good quantitative skills Good working knowledge of the R language Experience handling large datasets An interest in conservation policy and evidencebased conservation Ability to produce quality scientific writing A collaborative and inclusive team member, able to build good working relationships across the business and with a diverse group of project stakeholders Good time management skillsWe would be delighted if you also had the following skills/experience: Experience working with multiple lines of evidence Able to manage complex data and reports, providing timely management and statistical informationExplore the science further
