Our Client
Our client is a profitable B2B owner managed business based in Shepton Mallet.


They are in a strong financial position and are looking to recruit an insightful and hands on Head of Finance who will play a pivotal role in transforming the finance department and creating a solid platform for their future growth.


Head of Finance - The Role
This is an influential role critical to the success of the organisation.

As such, you'll play a key part in leading and shaping the finance team, helping to improve financial processes and reporting and ultimately providing sound financial advice to theSLT.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop the finance team and proactively improve the financial processes;
  • Prepare the monthly management accounts pack and provide insightful analysis;
  • Produce and monitor forecasts and budgets;
  • Monitor cash and prepare cash flow forecasts;
  • Manage capital expenditure;
  • Oversee the AR and AP function;
  • Provide strategic financial support to the Managing Director;
  • Carry out financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision making;
  • Oversee the submission of VAT returns and payroll;
  • Ensure all statutory financial compliance requirements are met;?
  • Assist with ad hoc finance projects.?

The Successful Applicant


As Head of Finance, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) who has experience of working in high growth SME's.


Ideally you will demonstrate:

  • A diligent, problem solving and proactive attitude prepared to be into the detail of the accounts as well as assisting with strategic planning;
  • Experience of evaluating & migrating accounting systems desirable;
  • Experience of developing systems to improve reporting requirements;
  • Exceptional analytical, presentation and Excel skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Strong commercial acumen;
  • A pragmatic, selfmotivated and proactive mindset.
