Torridon Road Medical Practice JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE:
RECEPTIONIST REPORTS TO:
PRACTICE MANAGER (under the supervision of the Reception Supervisor)
HOURS:
20-35 hours per week
Job Summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Job Responsibilities:
Administration To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
To work in accordance of written protocols Pulling/filing notes for surgeries and update as necessary Incoming paperwork (e.g., post, requests for prescriptions, photocopying, faxes) Filing post in medical records Fax and photocopy as requested Outgoing paperwork (referrals, business letters, claims, forms, repeat prescriptions Reception Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
Be able to cover all reception position as necessary Contact with patients, appointments, greeting patients on arrival, directing as appropriate, dealing with visitors, informing patients of late running surgeries, registering new patients, explaining services Appointments Process appointment requests from patients by telephone and in person.
Telephone Have working knowledge of telephone, during and after hours. Cover for telephonist when necessary Other Tasks Clear rooms after surgeries Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
Make coffee for doctors Any other tasks allocated by managers organise catering for meetings handle cash safely and efficiently and maintain records Confidentiality:
