About The Role:


Are you passionate about Water Polo in England and want to contribute to the future development of it?

  • Do you have knowledge and experience of talent identification and development?
  • Do you have broad experience developing water polo players?
We are seeking an experienced Talent Centre Head Coach within the West Midlands Region to join our team.

You will be required to work 15 weeks throughout the year, on average 3 hours per week at a rate of £20 per hour.


This is an exciting opportunity working within the Water Polo Programme, with Swim England's new 10-year strategy recently launched, which focuses on ensuring our aquatics environments promote an open and welcoming culture, with participant welfare at their heart.


  • The Talent Centre Program is the beginning of the international player pathway focused on ages There are Swim England Water Polo Talent Centres geographically placed across the UK, who train weekly or fortnightly in order to ensure that participating players who attend are given the fundamental skills to succeed as a future national team player


Reporting to the Swim England Water Polo Talent and Inclusion Officer, you will be responsible for leading a team of coaches in the delivery of the National Talent Centre programme, mentoring and developing future national team coaches, contributing to the evolution of the National Talent Centre Syllabus and nurturing players on the talent pathway.

About You:


Essential

  • UKCC Level 2 Coach Certificate or the older Level 2 Coaching Qualification.
  • Experience and demonstrable success developing water polo players
  • Experience in successfully designing, delivering and evaluating athlete/coach performance programmes
  • A strong ability to build relationships in a multistakeholder environment
  • Experience managing, mentoring and motivating coaches / other support staff
  • Strong understanding of talent identification and development, from a technical perspective

Desirable

  • Coaching leadership experience within a national or international water polo programme
  • Experience implementing practical systems and interventions
  • Insight into or experience within, a national programme or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of budget management
  • A passionate attitude about open and fair talent identification
