Your New Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a
permanent Sub Agent to join our team to assist in the delivery of a major Civil Engineering project in
Glasgow.
Since August 2020, our
NMC SW
account has been working in partnership with Transport Scotland Southwest, leading the charge in delivering a diverse range of Civil Engineering projects across the strategic road network of northeast and southwest Scotland.
In addition to this we are responsible for the inspection, cyclical maintenance, asset management, winter maintenance and incident response across the network.
This role will involve working closely with our in-house design consultants, supply chain partners, and our customer Transport Scotland to ensure the successful delivery of a multi-disciplined design and construction project.
The Sub Agent plays an integral part in assisting the Construction Manager, driving projects and schemes forward while upholding the highest standards in health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing engineering expertise and support to the project team
- Understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications
- Managing, supervising and mentoring both your onsite and projects team to ensure high levels of quality, control and generation of appropriate records
- Ensuring all staff, subcontractors and visitors are properly inducted, meet the competencies required of them and hold relevant qualifications and tickets
- Production of 'as built' information ensuring that it is accurate and relevant
- Adopting and promoting a costconscious attitude through efficient use of company
- Communicating with commercial staff to ensure all records for measurement and payment purposes are prepared promptly, in appropriate form
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports and contribute to commercial aspects of the project
- Liaising with general foreman to ensure adequate work preparation and resources availability
- Assisting the Construction Manager as required to procure necessary materials, subcontracts and plant in sufficient time
- Chairing weekly site meetings, leading and promoting digitalisation, inclusion, welfare and well being
- Managing quality systems including Amey internal systems and Temporary works design
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Degree
- HND/HNC in Engineering or equivalent
- CSCS Level
- Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- Demonstrable experience at Site/ Section engineer, working towards Site/ Subagent level within a civil engineering construction environment supports your effective communication and leadership skills
- Previous experience of Temporary Works Coordination
- Qualified First aider
